Other News and Events


  • 2019 MARYKNOLL Student Essay Contest  is open for submissions.  Students in Grades 6-8 and Students in Grades 9-12 may submit essays online at  Entries should be 500-750 words.  The topic this year is "Courageous Missionaries," and asks the students to tell how and with whom they share the good news of God's love.  The submission deadline is November 15. Prizes include up to $1,000 in scholarship money. For more information please visit


  • Join the Students in Praying the Rosary - CCD Students will be in the sanctuary on December 8 at 10:10am, as part of class, to pray as a group.  Please bring your rosary and feel free to join them.  


  • Chris Stefanick at Our Lady of the Lake in Hendersonville on February 18, 2020 from 7:00 – 9:30 pm. His new tour, REBOOT! is the fun, inspiring and practical experience of applying the beauty and genius of the heart of the Gospel to every aspect of your life. Chris will lead you to rediscover God and the life you are made for, living life to the fullest, becoming all God created you to be.  Tickets are on sale online at Cost is $25/ticket.

What's Happening in Holy Name Religious Education?


First Communion was celebrated on Sunday, June 2, at our 10:30am Mass. It was an absolutely beautiful Mass with both our Sunday and Sudanese Choirs participating.



On Saturday, February 23, 2019, we held our first Family Prayer Workshop lead by the Domican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, Nashville.






On Saturday, December 1, 2018, students from our program attended the very first Holy Fire Nashville event at the Catholic Pastoral Center!

 New attendance policy. Students may only miss 3 classes each year. This is extremely important for our children preparing for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
